Sie promovierte 2015 an der Universit\u00e4t Bremen nach Forschungsaufenthalt in Japan zu Klimawandel und Gesundheit mit dem Schwerpunkt Evaluation von Anpassungsma\u00dfnahmen und deren Auswirkungen auf gesundheitliche Chancengleichheit und soziale Gerechtigkeit, inkl. Genderaspekte. Seit 2016 ist Melanie t\u00e4tig als PostDoc in der Suchtforschung am Institut f\u00fcr Allgemeinmedizin des Uniklinikums D\u00fcsseldorf, wo sie u.a. die Prozessevaluation  f\u00fcr eine Studie zu Tabakentw\u00f6hnung bei Tuberkulosepatient_innen in Bangladesch, Nepal und Pakistan betreut.
