annika.strauss[at]wwu.de<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/p>\nAnnika Strauss<\/strong> graduated (Magistra Artium) in Social Anthropology (Main Subject), Political Science (1st Subsidiary) and Economic Policy (2nd Subsidiary) in October 2010. Her final thesis is titled \u201cHomeless Madmen\/women \u2013 Ethnography of a Rehabilitation Project for Mentally Ill Roadside Destitutes in Western India\u201d and is based on a field research conducted from September 2008 till February 2009 in an NGO near Mumbai\/India. Since November 2010 she is doctoral candidate in Social Anthropology at the Institut f\u00fcr Ethnologie\/Westfaelische-Wilhelms-Universitaet Muenster (doctoral adviser: Prof. Dr. Helene Basu). Her research project “Sex-Gender and Psychiatry in Mumbai” is once more placed in the field of Transcultural Psychiatry. It focuses on the question how the category “sex-gender” moulds biomedical practice in two cosmopolitan (public and private) psychiatric institutions in Mumbai\/India. Since September 2012 she works as a lecturer at the Institut f\u00fcr Ethnologie\/WWU M\u00fcnster and regularly teaches Bachelor and Master classes in Social Anthropology. In September 2014 she completed the training course on \u201eProfessionelle Lehrkompetenz f\u00fcr die Hochschule\u201c (NRW-Zertifikat) [North Rhine-Westphalian Certificate \u201cProfessional Teaching Competency in Academia\u201d].
